I watched the wildcard game at a bar in Austin. I went by myself wearing my jersey and sat down in front of a tv playing the game.
I heard a few "cheering for you guys" comments from some random people passing by as the game started.
Toward the 4th or 5th inning a couple of neutral fans took a seat near me and started to talk a little baseball with me.
Then, as the Royals started mounting their comeback in the 8th and 9th innings, I noticed a bunch more people had gathered around the area where I was sitting and were cheering on the Royals.
In the bottom of the 12th all of the neutral fans that had gathered around seemed like they were on pins and needles. When Sal got the game-winning hit the whole bar erupted.
It was quite a scene.
