Unless I'm sitting in the stands with a brew in my hand, I'm not much for baseball's regular season. Too many games to get excited for over and over and over. It's an occasional laconic summertime relaxation exercise, or something to put in the background as you putter around your garage.
But post season baseball is the TITS. Stakes so high, everything seems impossible and infinitely possible at the exact same time. You don't have a clock that tells you you've run out of time to come back. You can be down 4 against quality pitching in the bottom of the 8th. You can watch as chance after chance gets chased into the dirt in front of the plate. You can watch stalwarts wither on the mound at a moment's notice.
I can't definitively say that baseball elimination is superior to NFL FB or NCAA BB overall, but the potential to swing from resignation to jubilation in a moment is rarely greater.
Baseball playoffs is a fingernail chewer's game.
