It really seemed if the defense itself was a tale of two halves in 2013. It certainly didn't seem like it was the same defense and same players that finished the year compared to the ones who started it.
I wonder which defense will show up in 2014?
I'm not overly impressed with either Poe or Houston to this point in the 2014 preseason. I wonder if it's that defensive coordinators have a little more tape on these guys and are game planning them better now?

IMO the problem with the system is that it puts enormous pressure on the CB, if they arent fast long and strong they will get beat vertically (like flowers did last year)
if they are long fast and strong they will get beat with double move routes (because tall guys arent agile, watch Gaines)
The problem is confounded by the fact that we don't play in a system that allows us to draft pass rush specialists all across the line (seattle does)
We have Dontari Poe playing 90 % of snaps and he has 0 moves. Look at Seattles interior d line, doing finesse moves on every snap..
