If they wanted to play it safe, you put Stephenson at Left Tackle and the drop off wouldn't be huge. They are playing Fisher at LT because they want to develop him and see how he does.
They didn't overestimate anything. They knew exactly what they are getting themselves into and still have a chance to swap Stephenson back in at LT if they feel uncomfortable. As much as people make it about ALbert, it's not. It's about Fisher.
