2011 - not a single CB taken in the 1st round
2010 - 2 DT and S taken before CB.
2009 - not a single CB in round 1.
Draft history does not indicate CB is more important then pass rusher.
While its opinion, its unbiased opinion. Flowers is rated 1 spot LOWER than Cooper in BR top 100 CB's of 2014 so apparently there isn't expected to be huge drop off. Flowers is ranked 80 out 100, Cooper is 79 and Sean Smith is 65 which is higher than all those guys taken in the 1st round in 2012.

On another note Carr barely made the list at 99.

I actually wasn't disagreeing with you, per se. I think coverage and pass rush are equally important; I was just poking a hole in the argument that you brought up about draft status and frequency. It doesn't necessarily indicate most important position as much as it does best player according to team need. Like how there was only one QB taken in the 2012 1st round and about 46 OL in that same period. That doesn't mean that offensive linemen are more important than QBs. Know what I mean?
... And nitpicking here but Stephon Gilmore is far from a bust. He's actually pretty good.
