Pretty much this. Being next to Ft. Meade and having served in MI while in the Army I run into a person from the past on occasion. I am horrible with names, but one time I tried to play it off. It went something like this:
Guy: "Mike! Hey man, how have you been?"
Me: "Hey.... man! Not bad, how about you?"
Guy: "Awesome. Hit me up sometime, we'll hang out."
Me: "Ok. How do you spell your last name again?"
Guy: "S-M-I-T-H (while giving me a look that says your an asshole for forgetting my name)."
I just walked away. Pretty embarrassing lol. Worst part is his last name isn't Smith, but I'll be damned if I can remember it. It was something simple though.
