I read Civil War and it really wasn't that great. Marvel getting way too far up their own asses for a story arc that didn't have to stretch out as long as it did. If anything, the fact that the themes of Civil War were addressed as subplot here is more evidence that Civil War was overblown.

Cap's portrayed infinitely better and has his abilities showcased more than in Avengers, but Avengers is by far superior to this.

I don't think it's fair to compare the crossover movies with the stand-alone movies.
Yeah. It would have better with a return to realism like we saw in the first movie about cosmic death rays in the hands of a Nazi splinter group.
