The only draw back on this rifle is getting the ammo. Only Hornady makes it so you have to find a Hornady dealer, call them, and see if they have the ammo available. Word is that when the 17 hmr bullet came out, it severely impacted the demand for the 17 Hornet. Hornady doesn't have a lot of demand for the 17 Hornet so I don't think it's a high priority for them to make the ammo either.
The rifle itself is great and the off the shelf ammo is excellent, I have not had any issues with either. Now, I haven't put hundreds of rounds down range because the ammo is hard to get. I've shot less than a hundred rounds.
