I'm not excusing anything, but there are some responses that I think the makers were going for, however poorly executed.

1. Debs death. Like the hospital staff was sooo distracted by the hurricane that nobody notices Dexter carrying out a corpse to his boat parked right there for him. And why would his sister, who a lot of people seemed to care about, get the water burial like all of his victims? Dexter didnt think she deserved a funeral where people that cared about her got to say goodbye? Please.

This one pissed me off, too. I think (in Dexter's mind) she was one of his victims, in a way. Not that she didn't deserve a better burial or that friends would get to say goodbye, but Dexter's victims get buried at sea.

3. Dexter is going to just let Hannah take care of his son? He's just gonna forget about everything and be just fine with that hot bitch being his full time mommy? No way.

I don't think they thought Harrison would just be OK with it. But the truth is he already kinda looked at her like his mom, and Dex abandoned him. Of course, what's-her-name will bring him up telling him how much his daddy loved him. But it's not like a kid that young has much of a choice but to accept what's-her-name.

4. Hannah on the bus, she was caught. But good thing she had a huge ass needle with horse tranquilizer that she has never used before on her! Seems only logical to pack that for your plane trip.

Yep. Awfully convenient. But I'm OK with this one, ultimately, through willing suspension of disbelief.

5. Dexter just kills saxon with a pen in the police station and Quinn was like "well I guess it was self-defense....." I mean, wow.

Again, I can't argue this one. Total bullshit that we're led to believe is OK because Quinn cared for Deb. Just bullshit all around.

6. And dexter was out in the middle of the ocean, miles from shore in a god damn CGI hurricane, the boat obviously smashed and I guess he just swam around in the water while the hurricane hit and swam back to shore no biggie.

They actually set this one up an episode earlier when Dex was trying to sell the boat. He said "It's even got a life boat." So we're led to believe he escaped on the life boat. Where it becomes bullshit is to think Dex survived out there on a life boat when the hurricane smashed the Slice of Life to bits.
