whether a sole prop or overseeing employees, when the owner services you, it is expected that his ownership in the company is providing adequate compensation. You certain CAN tip, but not necessary.
On a side note, I DO tip the gal that cuts my hair even though she owns the salon, but only because I still pay $10 for a haircut like I did 15 years ago, and she cuts my kid's hair for free every other month.
