You pick the best plays to get you into the end zone. Period. The clock should not dictate play calling, especially if it means laying up. It's not like we have an offense that scores at will. And our red zone offense has improved dramatically the pass two weeks because we are passing better there.

I just think
that particular play and that throw were too risky under the circumstances. It misses, and game over. We didn't
have to get into the end zone on that play. We did
have to get 4 yards.
Most importantly, the receiver wasn't even open. Without watching the replay, I don't know what Alex's other options were at that moment. But I do know that before the play, planning a play to net 4-5 yards is a lot less risky than planning a longer throw into the end zone.
