Hitting a cruise ship out of New Orleans next week. Going to be in New Orleans a couple of days early. What are some things we can see or do? I know the French Quarter area has several things but what else is there to do?

New Orleans was the coolest dirtiest nasty city I've been to lol. Bourbon Street was cool. Amazing food in the city. The old architecture was neat.

You could always flash your titties at random strangers. Heard that was all the rage down there.

Eat and drink in copious amounts.

(We also took a swamp tour one day when we were there, which was fun.)

Fishing is excellent. Food is out of this world, even the little hole-in-the-wall places; maybe especially those.

About a billion little blues/jazz joints.

There is an excellent WWII museum if you are into that and have the time.

Take beads and singles. And the WWII museum is cool.

I skipped standing in line at Cafe Du Monde and ended up going to Monty's on the Square multiple times and it was fantastic.

Pat O'Brien's was a fun piano bar, but the drinks are only good if you like a cup of sugar with a shot of alcohol.

I have no desire to ever set foot in that shithole. Hell I feel like taking a shower anytime I have to drive through Louisiana.

If I were the OP, I'd try to immerse myself in the culture/people as much as possible. New Orleans is probably the most unique American city I can think of. Just completely different from every other city I've ever been in. Whatever you do, enjoy it.
