Chex Mix Season!
The lovely Mrs. B likes to make Chex Mix for the holidays and share it with her family and friends. She's been laid up with a bad back, so I've been making it this year. I've made two big batches so far, and batch #3 coming up this afternoon. I use Corn, Wheat and Rice Chex, Cheerios, stick pretzels, Planters mixed nuts and extra cashews, Worsh sauce, a stick of real buttah, seasoned salt, onion powder and garlic powder. Roast for an hour at 255 degrees, stir it up every 20 minutes so it doesn't burn the nuts. Nothing worse than burning your nuts. Thats as low as my oven will go. How do you make yours?

I add cheezits and sunflower seeds. One hour at 250.

My wife doesn't like the rye chips or cheez-its. I love both, but have to follow her mom's recipe, which is what I posted.
Also, how come corn and rice chex come in a big box, but wheat chex are in a little box??? |
Love my nuts roasted!

I always add a little cayenne to the seasonings. We recently started buying Dot's Homestyle pretzels and they're very good in chex mix. A few months back I threw a batch in the smoker in a couple foil pans for an hour (instead of the oven). That was very good for something a bit different.
