How do you get by without Sammy, LDT, Erving, Damien Williams, Sorensen and Reiter?
Just kidding..... We will actually get better by cutting most of those guys. |
He's right, the next 2 drafts will be pretty huge.
|
Better grab LBs, CBs and some fatties

I think Swanson’s tweet/idea is stupid though.
Yeah, you could cut all bazillion of the guys he listed. But then you have to replace them all, and a few that he listed aren’t even that expensive. The thought of cutting Damien Wilson or Daniel Sorensen shouldn’t be on anyone’s mind right now. They’re earning their money. And cutting 3 offensive linemen in one offseason? Why? I get wanting to upgrade Reiter/LDT/Wylie, but if you can keep a couple of them as backups, you’re crazy not to. This isn’t Madden, Kent. It’s bigger than “we’ll just cut everyone that saves a few bucks for us derp derp derp”... |
And next year there is STILL $8 mil in Eric Berry dead money.
Ugh. |
I can live without Sammy, Erving, Reiter, and Damien. In the big picture of things, LDT and Dirty Dan are worth keeping. We already have problems with the interior line, why dump both Reiter and LDT and exchange for 2 pigs in a poke? The problem IMO isn't LDT, it's the guy to his left. The same can be said for Sorenson. He's a valuable ST guy, a guy that will usually make 1 big play a game, and a known commodity.

<br /> Yeah, I wouldn't cut LDT....he's not awful but he's just OK. Reiter and Wylie are pretty cheap though so maybe just keep them on as backups if you can find better to be starters? |

Why anybody would want to cut Wilson is beyond me. He’s a steal.

I don't know what to think about LDT. I'ts one of those cuts that in the end you will spend as much as you save IMO. I lean to keeping him around but draft a replacement.

Sorenson is a perfect 3rd safety when he can be used like he's been used this year. Really good in that role.
LDT isn't good fellas. He hasn't been for a while, but he makes a lot of money now and is injury prone. He can go practice medicine. |
You can save 5 million by cutting LDT. That's a shitload
