win 7 usb 3.0 driver issues

hi guys, i'm doing a new build for my nephew but he ordered a new case that doesn't have a bay for an optical drive, which means he has to install his os through his usb port.

problem is he wants to use win7 ultimate but it appears that win7 has no native usb 3.0 drivers. he has a cd for the mobo drivers, including the usb3.0 driver, but with no optical drive i have to figure out how to load that driver when the usb3.0 ports don't work yet because there is no driver loaded.

it seems a little odd that the mobo supports the usb when using the bios, and it works during installation (i used usb3.0 creator tool to add the drivers to the usb installation stick), but once i have win7 loaded (installed), the usb 3.0 ports won't work (no drivers loaded, since they are on the mobo installation cd which i can't use).

so, how do i get the mobo usb3.0 driver(s) loaded? or, to put it another way how do i get the drivers i need installed when the only thing i have is usb3.0 port which won't work until i get the drivers installed through the non-functioning usb3.0 port? it would seem i need to get them onto the win7 install usb 3.0 stick so they can be loaded before the win7install finishes, but a) i don't know how to do that, and b) they are the kind that you have to use device manager to load the drivers (instead of just running an install program).

any ideas out there? i'm sure someone has had this problem before...

so, help?

Does it have PS/2 connectors for non-USB keyboards and mice? If so, just copy the driver installer to a cloud location on another machine, use a PS/2 mouse and download and install from the cloud location you copied to.

If there's no PS/2 ports, you might looking at much more complicated options. Like having to use a custom utility to add USB3 drivers to a Win7 install, which would make you a new Win7 installer disc that has the drivers built in.

Should've just installed Win10...
