AFCW: Week 11

Here we go, back by popular demand and a special request by TEX
… it’s Mile High Mania’s breakdown of the Week 11 action. Simply put, the Chiefs are riding high with a 2 game divisional lead and tied with 3 other teams for 3rd in the AFC. After a month, this division looked like one of the toughest in football… but since then, only the Chargers have a winning record in the last 5 games (3-2). Raiders and Chiefs have both lost 3 of their last 5, while Denver is padding the cellar walls with 5 straight losses.

The matchups this week look great for the Chiefs and barring anything weird happening, should walk away with a 3 game lead over the division with six games left to play.

Chiefs (6-3) @ Giants (1-8): Defensively, the Chiefs have issues, but thankfully they have the Giants on the road. This should be an easy win for them, think 17 point margin. The Giants have given up 82 points in the last 2 weeks to the Rams and 49ers. Eli looks like a steaming pile and they have no real playmakers thanks to injury. Smith only has one INT on the season, so all they have to do is get up early and play it safe to the vest. Chiefs 34 / Giants 13

Bills (5-4) @ Chargers (3-6): This should probably be the best game of the week among the four, but BUF just benched Taylor and some guy named Nathan Peterman gets his first start after throwing 10 passes and a TD last week. The Chargers are a mystery and while they should do well, never underestimate their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Rivers has looked good this week and both defenses are going to give the offenses a tough time. Look for the Chargers to grind this one out though, winning late. Chargers 20 / Bills 17

Patriots (7-2) @ Raiders (4-5): Raiders won 2, lost 4 and have alternated the last 3 games with wins and losses. Coming out of their bye, they get a Patriots team that looks nothing like the team that struggled the first few weeks. This might look interesting through two quarters, but in the end… it’s Tom Brady. Patriots 31 / Raiders 24

Bengals (3-6) @ Broncos (3-6): Ahhh yes. Battle of 3-6 behemoths and the loser likely moves into the #5 draft slot for 2018. The game is in Denver, but I’m not sure this matters right now. These two teams have combined for 2 wins in the last 10 games, all Bengals. Bengals have lost 4 of their 5 road games and this will be their 3rd straight road game, having lost to the Jags and Titans in recent weeks. Again, maybe this doesn’t matter – Denver has given up 92 points (take that Giants) in the last two games vs the Eagles and Patriots. But, the Bengals are not either of those teams. This is going to be a battle of who sucks less… and through that lens, nod goes to Denver. Broncos 20 / Bengals 17

And, there you have it … the division goes 3-1 this week, with the Raiders owning the lone loss.

Aren’t the Chargers starting Kellen Clemons? Picking Bills there. Agree with you on the rest.

These are going to be some really bad games.

The Chargers can't stop stepping on their dicks in the final minutes of play, so they lose.

The Giants are 1-9, their starting right tackle is out and they're flat out awful all around.

The Raiders are no match for New England, regardless of the fact that it'll be a "home" game for them in Mexico City.

The Bengals-Broncos game will be an exercise in offensive futility.

So much for the AFC West being the NFL's toughest division.

Whoa... is that true? I've been out of pocket. If so, I'll edit that... although, both spare QBs may even out. And, I gotta go pick up a backup QB in fantasy.

Yes, Rivers is most likely out this week because he's in the Concussion Protocol.

He self-reported earlier this week so I'd be surprised if he plays Sunday.

So, considering you have two 'never done anything guys' at QB in the Chargers/Bills game, I'm going to keep it as it is and give the benefit of the doubt to the home team.

Faid beat the Pats. Chuggers beat the awful Peterman led Bills. Mule Toolers continue their hibernation.

Chiefs win.
Donks win. (Hate to say it.)
Faiders lose.
Dolts lose.
