2017 KC Chiefs Prospect Ranking #1

Players must be:
Drafted 2014-Present
and
25 or younger

You are encouraged to explain the reasoning for your vote in the comments. What qualities are more important such as experience vs. upside is entirely in the eye of the beholder.

Not every player is listed that qualifies. As each round goes I will add another to the list replacing the one that won. You are also encouraged to comment on which player should be added next if you wish.

The length of each round will be determined by me based on landslides, slowing of discussion, ect.

Shoutout to hfboards.hockeysfuture.com for the idea.

Kareem Hunt
Generates powerful bursts of speed, great balance and core strength, loves football, pretty good vision, took the initiative to be a dual threat back while in college, exceptional ball protection, can be a high volume player

Kareem Hunt will be the next person added to the poll in the 2nd round. Completely jumped over him.

BlackHelicopters 07-18-2017 09:44 AM

Poll fail. No Eric Fisher or LDT.

I'm not really sure what this vote is supposed to be about, but I voted for Marcus Peters as the guy who I think will have the best NFL career of those on the list.

I'm highly tempted to pick Mahomes, especially since he plays QB... Peters has proven the most at this point.

They don't meet the qualifications. As far as this is concerned they are no longer "prospects". Fisher is 26 and drafted in 2013. LDT is 26 as well. I could hear an argument for LDT since he is just old for his draft class but Fisher isn't a prospect anymore IMO. Ware is only 25 but was drafted in 2013. This may not be perfect the first time but I think the range we chose works.

Can be viewed different ways. Prospect can be the best current young player that has shown results or it can be someone who you think has the best potential.

I personally vote along the lines of who I least would want to lose from the team while also considering upside of guys who maybe haven't gotten to play yet.

Agreed. Mahomes doesn't even need to be as good as Peters in the long-run to be the more valuable player however due to his play in 3 years and his continued potential, I as well chose Peters.

This is part of why I like these polls. A debate could be made for players for different reasons.

I can't put put a rookie on this list bc they haven't proven anything yet.

There's no question in my mind that Marcus Peters is #1 on this list by a pretty good margin. 14 INT's so far is better than many HOF CB's at this point in his career and realistically there are only 5-7 CB's that are truly elite #1 CB's and we are fortunate enough to have one of them.

After QB, I would say that a true shut down #1 CB is the hardest position to find.

Hence the term prospect

Not sure but how big of a surprise was Mitchell last year?

He was damn good; hope it continues

Patrick Mahomes II can deliver us a Super Bowl(s) Our potential as a team with Patrick Mahomes II is dynasty. All the others will can contribute but it starts with Patrick Mahomes II pulling the trigger and making this team feared once again. He will challenge guys like Marcus Peters in practice to become better and lift the rest of the team at the same time. Potentially speaking.

The guy was fantastic against Brown in the playoff game.

He was even better than most give him credit for.
