This video does a great job of explaining why KCK is trash trying to piggyback on the legendary KCMO.

TLDW: KCMO existed as "Kansas, MO" before Kansas was even a State.

The river splits off from the border into Missouri up along the north edge of the city, so I'm not really sure what that has to do with anything.

Yes...but the area that became the state of Kansas still had a name prior to it becoming a state and prior to "Kansas, MO."
