Am I wrong, or should we be rooting for Alex this year?

So, the Chiefs gave up their 27 this year in round one. And a hypothetically placed round one next year. Plus a third. In this one instance, we need Alex to excel as it lessens the burden on the front office for next years draft. Were the Chiefs to tank, then Buffalo could end up with the number 1 pick next year, and the first pick in the 3rd round. Whereas if the Chiefs win, Buffalo's new picks are late round or worst, 32 overall, and we bitch a little bit less about Mister Smith.

Win Win? :D

Spoiler!

:hmmm:

Who gives a shit about what pick Buffalo gets next year? We need Alex to be more than a 15 TD turd to get something in return for him beyond $17M in cap savings.

So, yes. Me too.

So how does this play out here? Those who root for Smiith/Chiefs success and those who hope he fails so Mahomes can get tossed in way to early?

I will continue to root for the Chiefs. They happen to be my NFL team.

I'll probably do what I've done that last 1 1/2 seasons. Pay very little attention to the regular season, unsurprisingly watch the playoff failure, and hope Mahomes breathes some ****ing playoff life into the team next year.

We already paid them a third in this draft. They are only owed one first round pick.

That being said, i hope alex balls out so the chiefs can actually get something for him. If he plays mediocre as usual he is getting cut, nobody will pay for him like romo.

fair point, but an alex fail, gives away a greater pick than an alex win? plus the franchise wins too, having two top ten draft picks as qb options :D

Why would you not root for the starting QB of your team?

Why would you want him to suck to worsen the draft pick Buffalo gets? It doesn't matter to us where the pick is. We won't have a first round pick no matter what.

Is OP suggesting we should tank in order to move our 2nd and lower picks up?

(Not that I would be surprised, this is CP...)

Anything that makes Smurf attractive to other teams is a good thing.

Red Dawg 05-19-2017 05:42 AM

I certainly won't be rooting against the Chiefs. Only a SB win or maybe an appearance keeps Alex here in 18. I doubt tha happens even with having a well set up schedule. We play some rough riders and our QB hasn't shown the ability to beat bad defenses much less good ones. The defense has shown they can cover for him but it will take a miracle to do that this year again.

Pasta Little Brioni 05-19-2017 05:58 AM

If we convert his stats to New Zealand currency he might

Bugeater 05-19-2017 06:05 AM

No, you never root for Alex to succeed.

(Not like it matters, he'll suck anyway)
