-- Talk to me about Mugs-Up and NUWAY loose-meat burger sandwiches!
I've not been to either - however I make a nice loose-meat sandwhich w/ equal parts of ground chuck to yellow chopped onion - both are destroyed to tiny pellets - then - steamed bun (standard bun, small), yellow mustard and kraft singles. I was out of pickles today when I made them again - I use a seasoned salt and a bit of black pepper as my only seasonings.
Somehow I never tried either spot! For those of you that have gone - let's discuss them, how are they? what do you order? is the service good as well? (friendly employees, etc, etc) fries? onion rings? drinks? sweets? http://www.mugsup.com/menu.php http://www.nuwayburgers.com/full-menu/ Here's a commercial from 2011 --> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/JxwrPCSwHv4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tavern_sandwich |
They have good root beer.
If you like your food to soak the bag it came in with grease, you may like the food. |

Loose meat?
I'm trying to not fail CP, but I can't think of any good Hope Solo jokes. |
I haven't been there in a while but Mugs Up used to have Peach Nehi floats. The food is cheap but it's good for a dive.

Speaking of loose meat sammy's, I had a Bierock sandwich this weekend at Harry's Country Club in the river market. It's ground beef, onion, and cabbage, all wrapped up in a fully enclosed "bun". It comes with an au jus to dip it in. Will smash many more times.

My grandmother was an Independence, Mo. native and she'd make the loose-meat sandwiches all of the time - that's the only reason I even know what they are!
|
Have you made it Leavenworth and didn't let me know?
