Help me spend 10k in South Africa
I have been approached by a group of rich adventurists to help plan a vacation package. These guys routinely throw down large sums of money (10-30k on a vacation) and tend toward the extreme and exotic. Think diving the Red Sea one week, then camel races and pyramids the next.
I'm thinking of pitching the sardine run in South Africa as part of a package. You can dive next to a bait ball and watch all the predators come to feed. Sharks, Marlins, Whales... very intense from what I have seen in videos. Since I've not been to Africa, I'm a little stumped on what else might appeal to this crowd. Touring diamond mines? Polo? Ultralight flights over Capetown? Maybe some kind of eco-tour of Madagascar? What would you do if you had $10,000 to spend in South Africa in one week? |
If I had 10k to spend in South Africa I'd go somewhere else other than South Africa.

Cape buffalo hunt and cross country 4x4 run with camping if it was me

Well armed bodyguards. South Africa is pretty dangerous.

I've only been to South Africa once, and it wasn't on anything particularly adventurous. We just went to a big-game reserve.
Maybe they could camp in Krueger or something. I think there's some tidal pool in Victoria Falls (not South Africa, but close) where you can "hot-tub" right at the edge of the falls. Given the crime in Durban and Johannesburg, maybe they could camp in an urban park for a night, but that might be too dangerous. I'd also think about either Namibia or Madagascar. South Africa is pretty developed. Namibia and Madagascar have places where you can see pygmies or lemurs in the wild. (I don't know if the pygmies are still wild or not.) |
Hookers and blow. Man, this place is slipping.

Start them off with a swim with hippos. It's cheap, and when they die you can pocket the remaining cash.
|
Have them bufu a crocodile.
|
White shark tank dives. Do it.
|
Aids vaccine.
|
Look elsewhere.

My Wife and I went to South Africa two years ago. Best trip ever and expensive. We spent one night here.
