Best KC bar with live music?

Heading to KC for the weekend and looking for a spot for some live local music and a few drinks Saturday night. Any recommended spots?

Valiant 10-14-2015 11:29 AM

What type of music?

I would go to this on sat night;

The KC Brew Fest will take place at Union Station on Oct 17th and will feature KC's best breweries as well as craft breweries from around the country.

Admission will be split into two sessions, noon to 3pm and 4pm to 7pm. Admission will include tastings from over 50 breweries and 100 beers and food will be sold separately.

For more information and to purchase tickets, go to http://kansascitybrewfest.com/ (tickets will be available mid July).

If you want a good steak dinner and good jazz, check out The Majestic.

If you're really into music and music history, check out the Mutual Musicians Foundation. Show won't start until after midnight, though.

Ah yes, the Foundation. Where you go to drink after the 3am bars have shut down, lol.

Why would anyone want to go to a bar to hear random people play old songs?

No internet access?

I agree with this. Clientele sucks too.

The Piano bar in Westport is kind of ridiculous.

My guess is that it has to do with beer and face-to-face interaction with other people, especially those of the opposite sex.

I love the foundation, saw a guy get shot dead at about 3am two times ago that I was there. We walked back inside and listened to the music and drank some more. They had him gone by the time we left.

Some cabs don't like to drop us there sometimes too, but we always find one that will.
