(RNN) - Florida State University has kicked a quarterback off the team after the Florida State Attorney General's Office in Tallahassee released a surveillance video of him punching a woman in the face at a bar last month.

De'Andre Johnson was suspended indefinitely by the Seminoles when word of the incident began to break last week. He turned himself in after police issued an arrest warrant. He was charged him with misdemeanor battery and released on $500 bond. On Monday, hours after the release of the video, he was dismissed from Florida State.
The victim suffered injures to her face and was treated at the scene by paramedics, multiple media outlets have reported.
Johnson, a star high school player from Jacksonville, FL, enrolled early at FSU and participated in the Seminoles' spring game. He threw two TD passes. FSU needs to replace Jamies Winston, the 2013 Heisman Trophy Winner and the No. 1 pick in this year's NFL Draft. Johnson was expected to contend for the position with Notre Dame transfer Everett Gholson and Winston's backup, Sean Maguire.
