Guys you definitely DON'T want at 18

Anyone you really DO NOT want at #18? Here's my list so far:

1) Any CB. From what I've seen in the vids, there seem to be a bunch of decent CBs, but none that really stand out to me. I'd pass on all of them until at least Round 2 or 3. Definitely do not want one at 18.

2) DGB. Probably will be better options available than a guy who hasn't played football for over a year and has ample off the field baggage. Might gamble if he was there for our 3rd round picks.

3) All ILBs. Again, some decent guys available, but probably not first round material.

4) J Winston. He isn't going to fall this far, but I'd pass on the guy. Too immature to be a leader. I'd let someone else have that headache.

5) Also, I'm not sure I'd opt for yet another OLB at 18. We have Houston, Hali and Ford. Cannot imagine that Ford is a total miss, so I'd probably not go OLB at 18. This would include Gregory, Dupree or Ray. Might be missing out on a very good player, but geez, how many OLBs can you play at once? (Caveat: IF they intend on releasing/trading Houston, then I'd consider an OLB at 18.....just not Gregory.....he's a blink away from a nice suspension what with his apparent need for MJ.

6) I guess I'd be ok with C Erving, but I've gotta tell you, that selection really doesn't excite. I'd like to think that we'd have better options available at 18.

That's my list, how about yours???

Oops, forgot about him. I agree with you, that selection would be not good.

Who ever John Dorsey picks./CP

funchess.

So let me get this straight you'd be happy with a center but not the top cb got it

If you're willing to take Cam Erving over Trae Waynes, then there's nobody that can help you. Direckshun applauds, though.

Actually, if they use Funchess paired with Kelce as a Jimmy graham type te hybrid, with Alex smith, that wouldn't be a terrible pick

Just to clarify, I don't see a lock down corner in the bunch this year. They all seem kinda "meh" to me.

And yes, (and it hurts to say this), I think Erving is more of a first round talent than any of the CBs this year. Again, there will probably be guys other than Erving available at 18 that I'd rather have, but if we selected him, I probably wouldn't have a cow.

Dupree is an otherworldly athlete, could he transition at mlb?

I don't recall that he's played any ILB. I fear there's more to the position than just being a great athlete though. Nonetheless, I will grant you that Dupree has athletic talent in spades.

Waynes and Peters can absolutely he shut down corners. Not as sold on the others in the first round, but if either of them are there I'm going to be ecstatic.

To me this is going to be a hard pick to mess up, and of our needs the only position i don't want to address in the first is center

Ideally, we trade back 5 or 6 spots, get a solid CB, and land an extra 2nd round pick for our efforts. In the second we get a good WR and ILB, and do whatever th let rest of the way.
