I'm still sitting here surprised as hell we came out of there w/ a win.
There were about 6 things that happened that allowed us to win that game.
1. BUF fumbled while running for a TD into the endzone, results in KC ball at the 20.
2. False start on BUF Oline (the flinch call). Resulting in 4th and 6, BUF has to punt.
3. BUF fumble on the punt return, KC recovers and gets the ball back.
4. Orton missed on about 3 TD passes. Resulting in FG's instead of 6pts.
5. Charles 40yd TD run on 4th and 1.
6. Alex Smith hustles one into the endzone diving head first for the go ahead TD. Not all NFL QB's could have done that and gotten away w/ it.
This was one of those games were the ball finally bounced our way. BUF couldn't capitalize on our lack of scoring or really being able to get anything going on offense and it allowed us to stay in the game. We got a couple bounces our way and were able to manufacture and grind out a couple scores and then the defense held their own when it was crucial.
That was the best DLine the Chiefs will see all season. But it's also important they get better on the Oline and passing game. This Martyball/taking care of the ball/TOP ball control offense is great, and it goes great w/ a good defense, which we have. But you have to score points on the board. Travis Kelce needs to be on the field 85-90% of the snaps. He's a up and coming weapon and can get open and catch. Something not many others on this roster can do, even Bowe has a case of the dropsies every now and then. Had he held onto the ball on that quick slant, he would have been off to the house w/ our first WR TD. Kelce, Bowe, Charles, DAT need to be on the field on passing downs all the time.
