Wood floor refinishing.

Anyone ever sanded and refinished a hard wood floor? The house I live in has awesome original hard wood floors that were under the carpet. I've sanded them down and everything looks good except one spot... One big spot in the living room. Ideas? http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/image-15.jpg

It actually looks darker in the picture than it is.

just put a bleach soaked towel over the spot for 24 hours. then sand it & it will be fine.

Used too..... Yeah.

Any tips or tricks on the wood bleach? A guy I work with said to do it. But my wife found some goofy concoction bullshit on Pinterest. I think I'll take the high road.

did you use a square floor sander with 36 grit paper?

I had stains like that (ive done a few floors) and the only grit that even helped was 36 with a big square floor sander

Other than that I guess you could pry them up and rip some new stuff (oak?) down to size and try to maych it best you can (if it really bugs you)

If you havent tried the 36 grit with a real floor sander, try that 1st

you probly could do that spot with 2 sheets

(you could also try a drum sander but I am to scared to try those things...the square ones work so damn good......but I have heard the drum ones are more aggressive)

Got a drum sander rented gave it a little try before calling on the brain power of cp. Didn't act like it was getting any lighter time to try the bleach.
