How often do you eat a home-cooked meal?
With all the food posts lately, I'm wondering how often you eat a meal that's made at home. Frozen pizzas, etc. don't count. I'm talking about a meal that takes some thought and time to make. Oh, breakfast is unique because cereal, toast, etc. are easy, so it's not a deal breaker. It's better than donuts, though.
I'd make a poll, but the options are overwhelming. We'll figure 21 meals per week (you get the math I'm sure). |
99% of the time.

Almost always. My wife loves to cook and kicks ass at it

Almost every night. Almost every daytime meal is restaurant.

Its a rare day when I dont have atleast one home cooked meal.
I love to cook and eating out/frozen foods are entirely too expensive to do regularly. |
probably 4 dinners a week.
those are the nights I'll make a protein, starch, veggie etc. the other nights we'll 'scrounge' (as my dad would call it). sammiches, or left overs, etc. |
Growing up, the only thing my mom would ever cook is methamphetamine. Since leaving my hometown, you'll only see eating a home meal if it's a special occasion.

You mean, like, food with ingredients and stuff?
I probably average 2 or 3 meals a week like that. I never have breakfast, and lunch is usually a frozen meal or restaurant salad. For dinner, I probably eat out 2 or 3 times a week, graze or have frozen meals 2 or 3 times a week, and have a simple cooked meal (e.g., grilled chicken and salad) 2 or 3 times a week. Edit: I guess my at-home meals aren't always simple. My wife makes some amazing "salads" pretty frequently that are not just lettuce types of things. They'll be "blueberry-corn salad" or "peach-corn" or "watermelon-arugula". They're amazingly good and also healthy. She gets the recipes from some secret place. |
Do leftovers for lunch count as well? If so, approximately 13 times per week.

75-80%.

It depends on whether I'm home or not.
