Am I crazy to take Manning 1st overall?

I have the first overall pick in my 12 team ppr league this Friday. All TDs are worth 6pts. The weird thing about my league is that we only have to start 1 RB.

This means I'd most likely end up with a RB like Ball, Bell or Foster at the end of the 2nd round.

I'm leaning towards doing it. Agree/disagree?

I'd take Brees or Rogers, but that's only cuz i dont root for donkeys.

It makes sense in a TD driven league.

I had the 4th pick in my league and took him. I figure I'll either have a kickass fantasy season, or for $65 sabotage the Donkey's season.

Win, win. :thumb:

If you only start one RB....why not get one of the top 4 and never have to worry about it. Yeah...you could get someone like Bell (who might now be suspended), Ball or Foster...but they aren't going to be tops at their position. Like it was said earlier....I'd rather have Rodgers or Brees over Manning. He won't be throwing up another 50+ TD season this year.

If you could guarantee yourself Ball then I'd take Peyton. This will be the only year Ball will be drafted outside the top 8. And it sucks to say that :/

Yeah...you should totally have a QB/RB combo from the same team. :spock:

Should I hand back my fantasy football championship from last year? I just looked over my 2013 roster and Peyton and Knoshown are still there :hmmm:

Yeah....and who else were you starting?

Having passing TDs worth 6 isn't as dramatic a difference as most people assume. Peyton will put up more points, but so will other QBs. Compared to a 4pptd league, if Peyton goes off and throws for 5 TDs, that's only 4 more points than a 3 TD game from some other QB you could have gotten much much later.

Unless you're playing with Hootie in a 2 QB league, you shouldn't be taking a QB in the first round, much less the first pick.

What's the scoring system like for passing yards, rushing yards and receiving yards?

Standard 25 yards a point for QBs and 10 yards a point for rushing and receiving.

I've been in this league for over 5 years and every year there are at least 6 QBs gone in the first two rounds. I've never done it but am very tempted this year.

Yep you're crazy. QBs are deep I would wait.

The people you play with are stupid. Let them take the QBs while you take all the players that will actually win you the league (assuming Peyton doesnt set another all-time record for TDs).

And btw, most of the guys I know that won the league last year with Peyton got him in the 2nd/3rd, which means they had 1 or 2 stars at other positions.
