I'm not sure he'd be a good owner, but who knows?

If you didn't make it past the first few series of Sunday night's Hall of Fame Game, you're forgiven. Even with the return of football, preseason action can be a bit hit-or-miss once the first-teamers are off the field.

But if you did tune out early — or failed to tune in at all — you missed a pretty interesting little nugget from NBC announcer Al Michaels, who passed on a conversation he had with prospective Buffalo Bills owner Donald Trump.

“He said he offered $1 billion — all cash, no contingencies, immediate closing. He’d have the check in one hour,” Michaels said, per Pro Football Talk. “He was a little miffed that it went out for bid again.”

Trump, brah. There's a zero percent chance this story is legit.

Agreed. He has no intention of buying the Bills. From what I've read, Trump grossly exaggerates his actual net worth. Chances are that he's not even a true billionaire.

The NFL has to approve it anyway. They look in to finances with a fine tooth comb to see if he has the cash.

He has a reputation of being unethical in business. The NFL wouldn't really want to sell to someone who's been known to backstab his suppliers and others.

Yet the Hunt family has been doing this to fans for 40 years

Fans are different. They're like the terminator. You can't kill a fan.

They probably don't want him in the league because he'd spend money like crazy and make the rest of them look bad.

That and he would get Trace Adkins to sing the opening... of the...

Trump should just start his own football league. WAY more money to be had in that.

I don't think Trump spends as much money as he tries to looks like spends.

He would be more like Al Davis, suing the league and other owners all the time to try to get his way.
