I'm back to FireFox and avoiding Chrome for now...

Google Chrome seems to be having issues and it's not just me. There seems to be a problem that started last summer/fall and has just now shown up for me. Several "resolving host" and "website not found" problems on a consistent basis. I've done some of the "fixes" that have been recommended but those fixes don't last.

Does anyone here have a solution? I've looked everywhere and the consensus is that it's a Chrome issue that hasn't been resolved.

For now, FireFox works fine. I prefer Chrome, but not with these recent problems.

Strange, I haven't had the problem. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Yes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. That doesn't fix the problem. From what I've read this is not unique. Some people had the same issue several months ago and still have the same problem. It just recently caused me problems.

No Internet Explorer?

Sounds like a weird DNS issue. Set your NIC to use 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4

On Chrome, I keep have an ad (audio only) pop up. I close the window and it goes away. It comes on a couple times a day.

I blame porn.

Chrome is getting worse with every successive release.

I'm back to Firefox as well, but because I'm moving away from Google. Having my browser, my search engine, my calender, my e-mail, my phone, the camera on my phone, my photo sharing site, and my work's version of all of those, linked, has its cutesy advantages, but when I started seeing targeted ads based off of one show up on another, with no way I know of to get rid of them, it started getting a little too Minority Report for me.

Yeah, I quit using Chrome a couple of years ago. It only took me about a year to realize I don't need Google at all and then I just deleted my entire account.

Ive been using Firefox for a while now simply because of the ability to change the look and feel of the UI to almost whatever I want.

Does anyone know how extensions work?

I have youtube options extensions installed [great extension let's you customize almost everything about video streaming, turn on/off ads, annotations, comments, autoplay, autoHD, buffering, etc.]

Said they're going to monthly subscription soon, does that mean they can shut down what is installed on my PC, or is this for new/updating customers.

It's neat to have the control, but not THAT big a deal to end it.

They'll probably just enhance the server side so that the non-paid version will be neutered or no longer work.

They can't really make you uninstall it or anything, they'll just make your version incompatible.
