Need more proof that Walterfootball.com hates the Chiefs?

I present to you the backwards mock draft. #32 gets to pick at #1 and so forth. We pick 10th........ANDDDDDDDDDDDD........

10. Taylor Lewan , OT , Michigan
The Chiefs used a first-round pick on a tackle last April, but remember who's calling the shots. Andy Reid loves to bolster the trenches, and with Branden Albert gone, there's an opening at the right tackle position, as Eric Fisher is shifting over to the blind side.

The Franchise 04-04-2014 11:44 AM

We passed on everyone except Clowney, Mack, Watkins, Evans, Robinson, Barr, Bortles, Gilbert and Matthews....because they were taken before us. We passed on Bridgewater....Manziel.....Ebron....etc.

Bowser 04-04-2014 11:48 AM

LMAO

It really is fascinating

htismaqe 04-04-2014 11:55 AM

Taylor Lewan is a mauler and prototypical right tackle. Best right tackle prospect in a while.

I agree. I know this is a "backwards" mock draft, but I would be perfectly content if the chiefs got Lewan at #23.

Content? Not me. I'd rather have just about any position other than OT/G.

But I could certainly see why they'd take him. At RG, he's everything Fisher isn't.

Bowser 04-04-2014 12:30 PM

You guys are killing my wood with all this line talk.

RealSNR 04-04-2014 12:37 PM

This "remember who's calling the shots in KC" line he keeps pedaling is a load of bullshit. It's an excuse for him. It doesn't really matter who coaches or GMs the Chiefs. Walter will always find excuses to draft offensive line in the first round for us.

It wasn't too long ago in 2009 and 2010 when he mocked a LT to us in the top 5 because Scott Pioli needed his "meat and potatoes" tackle. This is all while the Chiefs JUST drafted Branden Albert in 2008 in the 1st round. We didn't even get a short reprieve.

Then in 2012 it was more bullshit with the notion of the "stud" OG David DeCastro going to a team with a GM and a head coach who "valued" the line more than others.

And he's doing the exact same ****ing thing again. Because Andy Reid is our head coach. He doesn't even know that the franchise has officially stated that John Dorsey has final say. It's just "Andy Reid... he drafted linemen in Philly when he had unlimited power... makes sense."

Hell, we actually COULD draft a G or a T in the first round this year and I'm sure he'd come back next year with a "stud" C prospect that we had to take to fill a need left by Rodney Hudson.

same here, but I am pretty sure he would easily be the BPA at #23 regardless of position or need.

I think you mean RT....and I would agree.

Halfcan 04-04-2014 12:46 PM

Sounds good- he will fit next to our other "Mauler" Fisher. Fear the Chiefs!!

Wow...

kccrow 04-04-2014 05:31 PM

lol... Lewan will be playing left tackle in the league more than likely.

I'd be extremely pissed. I feel as though the starting tackles are set in Fisher and Stephenson and only lacking a depth pick. If they take an OL in the 1st, it better be a guy that can play guard, and Lewan isn't it.

You also have some good talent available elsewhere:

WR Marqise Lee
CB Kyle Fuller
QB Johnny Manziel
DE Kony Ealy
DE Jeremiah Attaochu
SS Jimmie Ward
DE Stephon Tuitt
DE RaShede Hageman
etc...

I also don't doubt a team would be ready and willing to move up if Lewan is still sitting there that late.

You'd have options, but I wouldn't take Lewan. It would be a different story if we hadn't drafted Fisher last year, but it is what it is.
