Brandon Flowers: Would you trade? (Caution: LNBS)
***Late Night Bullshit Alert***
Calm down, it's not going to happen. But some people I know were discussing Flowers in regards to declining skills, injuries and size. Personally, I think he'll rebound after an off-season of recuperation. He just turned 28. That said, he has seemed to slow down a bit after 6 years in the league. So here's the thing: While the Chiefs would save overall on the cap if he was traded, they'd eat quite a bit of dead money. (See chart below.) What would it take for you to trade Flowers? For example, look at the Jets. They are hot for a starting CB & have the 18th overall pick. Would you trade Flowers for that pick? Maybe their 1st & 4th? What would it take for you to trade Flowers to another team? Personally, I'd want a lot. That's a boatload of dead money and Flowers is still a starting corner. I'd consider a first round pick this year (20th or earlier) & a third this year (or second next year). With the new rookie salary cap, draft picks are that much more valuable. What say you, gentle CP reader? http://i59.tinypic.com/i2n4gx.jpg |

OK. Then we'll be dogshit weak at cb just like the jets are.

When I first saw it I had an immediate image of a Japanese woman with broken English telling me she was happy for me because I had assistants. |

I don't think any team would give us a first for him. I'm not discrediting Flowers, I love the guy, I just don't see why anyone would trade for an above average, unhealthy, 28 year old CB.

Dude needs to restructure that deal.
|
Yeah, that contract is probably a trade deterrent as well.

Dude has been a ROCK SOLID warrior for KC... no off field drama, no crying about contracts, nothing but effort all the way.
The man DESERVES some respect from the club and the fans. Having said that, its time he moved to the slot and had a salary shave, he just ISNT the #1 lockdown guy we all hoped he was, his height and speed limitations are too much for even the best football IQ to overcome. Love the guy, he's been STANDUP from day one, but facts are facts. |

Why would he cry about his contract? He's getting more than her worth as it is.
