Food for thought? all these injuries and the reduction in contact drills?

May seem counterintuitive, but reps are important and with the limited full pad practices, going live and reconditioning your body for the hits after extended time may be a culprit in some of this? I'm not saying I fully buy into the theory, and maybe the number of injuries is par for tue course, but it seems like there has been a spike in the numbers this year so far- at least I seem to have come across a lot more media reports of guys going down across the league so far?

People go down all the time.

Seems pretty unlikely. Haven't most of the season enders come from before they started hitting anyway?

Current injury report :

D Bowe.. Broken fibula
J Charles .. Broken kneck
Eric Fisher ... 6 broken ribs
B Albert .... Both arms CRACKED
D McCluster ... All bones broken

I'd just say our D is gonna be physical this year

There are this many injuries every year around the league dude.

The average career is 3 years for a reason.

More athletes pushing their bodies to the limit and past with year round training and PEDs. You're going to get more injuries as athletes get bigger, faster and stronger. That doesn't necessarily translate to stronger connective tissue, bones, ligaments etc - the usual locations and mechanisms of injury.

WOW ! You're the only Doctor I know of on this site.

I have a lump in my private parts . Any idea what it might be ?

The Chiefs are actually working hard and tackling in training camp.

They haven't done that since... Vermeil?

I'd much rather have that than playing like feces against Buffalo every year to open the season.

Hold on, I'm getting a call on my Bluetooth. BRB

I don't think it is effecting injuries. but, I do see it has effected the quality of the game, particularly in the OL and how overall offense is executed.

also, I think rehab tech is at a level now where "playing condition" isn't so critical to achieve going into pre season.

but still, I miss the more cohesive, more gracefully executed unit type game.
