It really is sad to see those people so dependent on the government. Just really, really sad.

I think America would have plenty of resources for the poor if the fraudsters didn't hog it all up.

For me, it's that there didn't seem to be any shame or embarrassment about it. It looks like it's no longer a safety net and has become a way of life for those people.

It's been promised to them by the Democrats. Why would there be any shame?

It was disconcerting to watch the vid. It was like if you or I didn't get a paycheck for the week. Sad, indeed.

Why do we issue food stamps anyway? The seem like such a waste of resources: Printing them, storing them, distributing them etc. Why don't we just have food banks run by local churches and charities where people can come and get some bread, milk, rice and MREs?

This would prevent the buying of Lobster tails and Ribeyes

Yes, the wealthiest have fared so poorly over the past 50 years? The disparity has never been as great as it is now. Are there deadbeats taking advantage of the system? Absolutely.

However, over 10% of the population are elderly (retired)..they don't pay payroll or income taxes. 6.9% are non-elderly and make under 20,000 (this includes many GI's). 28% pay payroll taxes that go toward SS and Medicare, but end up after deductions not paying federal taxes. That leaves 1% as "others."

Hardly, the pandemic of parasites as depicted.
