Is Texas Gone Yet?

I was just curious.

BucEyedPea 11-15-2012 08:39 AM

Has California fallen into the sea yet?

blaise 11-15-2012 08:48 AM

No, not yet. You can still go there if you actually want to go somewhere that has jobs.

blaise 11-15-2012 08:50 AM

Some guy I follow keeps retweeting Obama fans that are upset that Texas wants to, "succeed" from the US.

Actually, since there's no chance in hell the Feds would peacefully turn loose of the resources if the state, they (we?) are taking the nullification route.

In the words of good ol' Tom Jefferson:

Quote:

The several States composing, the United States of America, are not united on the principle of unlimited submission to their general government; but that, by a compact under the style and title of a Constitution for the United States, and of amendments thereto, they constituted a general government for special purposes - delegated to that government certain definite powers, reserving, each State to itself, the residuary mass of right to their own self-government; and that whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force.

Talking sense and quoting Thos Jefferson has no place in this thread. How dare you sully my inane poking at inane people.

Is it at least being put to a vote yet?
