No it is not, I would kill Indy(Ford) half way into the movie.. The 3 people would be in charge from there on out, one of them being his son and the new mainstay Indy.. Harrison cannot pull off Indy anymore, unless you want to Avatar the whole movie.. Indy, best friend and love interest that keeps ignoring him as the 3 main characters. You could pull 3-4 movies easily from that to keep the franchise going strong.

Also make it where the crystal skulls of suck kingdom never happened..

That would be like killing Captain Kirk in that awful "Star Trek: Generations".

There's no reason to kill off an iconic character. It's film - the character can live forever.

Yeah but the rumor is based on Harrison Ford wanting the character to die, not Disney/Lucasfilm.

I'd be really shocked if they killed off such an iconic character and if they do, it'll have to be in spectacular fashion.
