Mr_Tomahawk 05-10-2014 11:23 AM

Not a QB! **** this team! I'm a bundle of sticks./Inmem

PunkinDrublic 05-10-2014 11:24 AM

Ragged Robin 05-10-2014 11:26 AM

McCluster clone.. WHY GOD WHY??????

ptlyon 05-10-2014 11:26 AM

You just watch, he's explosive!

Sully 05-10-2014 11:26 AM

I like it

KCFaninSEA 05-10-2014 11:27 AM

I like it. Replaces McBuster. I know the kid from the CFL does the same but I watched Thomas a lot and look out when he gets in the open field

Danguardace 05-10-2014 11:27 AM

Another McCluster-****

ptlyon 05-10-2014 11:27 AM

Might have been the only guy to answer his phone

jspchief 05-10-2014 11:27 AM

This is the first pick I'm unhappy with. I don't like this type of gadget player.

I just hope Aaron Murray lasts til next pick.

I know we're gonna draft him if he's there.

I can feel it. Reid loves the kid.

He'll succeed in this league. He's gonna be groomed to take over Chase's spot when his contract is up or if he's traded.

Urc Burry 05-10-2014 11:30 AM

Would trading up and giving up one of our 6's for Telvin Smith make sense?

Easy 6 05-10-2014 11:30 AM

Theres a lot to like in this breakdown...

That catch at 2:24 it pretty impressive.

-King- 05-10-2014 11:34 AM

They're going to use him as a WR? Hmmm... that could work...

bigjosh 05-10-2014 11:35 AM

I like the pick. He brings a different type of explosiveness that mccluster didn't have

Chieftain58 05-10-2014 11:36 AM

Yeah, I'm not impressed with this pick

Ragged Robin 05-10-2014 11:36 AM

His official 40 time at the combine was 4.5. Fix original post plz.

Mr_Tomahawk 05-10-2014 11:36 AM

Is he suppose to be our DeSean?

Bootlegged 05-10-2014 11:36 AM

You know McCluster and Thomas are not actually the same person.

Love this pick. KR/PR/RB/WR. Speed and juke. Sproles..

In58men 05-10-2014 11:37 AM

I liked McCluster, so this pick is so so. I still think we should have went OL or secondary.

58-4ever 05-10-2014 11:38 AM

I LOOOOOVE this pick. My family is from Oregon and I've watched this kid play a ton. He plays much faster than the 4.5 he ran. Had he run a 4.3, he would have been a second round pick.

ArrowheadHawk 05-10-2014 11:38 AM

I like this pick!

PunkinDrublic 05-10-2014 11:39 AM

He played in Snoop Dogs youth football league so the street cred is there.

Id rather them just develop Bray. Did you forget what Bray looked like in camp and preseason games

That says a lot. McBuster fell down when the wind blew. I would have been OK as well with OL but Thomas could add something we haven't seen before, similar to Dante Hall as a return guy but also a slot or out of the backfield receiver.

ModSocks 05-10-2014 11:43 AM

This dude is a baller.

The McCluster comparisons are stupid. McCluster wishes he was as fast Thomas. Thomas has way more stop and go and can actually make people miss, with hands just as good.

You guys are bitching about a 4th round draft pick that's an electrifying return man and gadget player.

McCluster wasn't a bad player anyway. He was a contributing gadget player, and i think this guy will be even better...and he wasn't a reach.

OldSchool 05-10-2014 11:44 AM

De'anthony Thomas is going to be one hell of a weapon for Reid. Those underneath crossing routes that McCluster took for 7-9 yard gains? Those are going to turn into 10-15 yards gains and a real chance at turning into TDs. McCluster has nowhere near the straight line game speed that Thomas has.

5'8 versus 5'9, both played RB/WR tweener in college, both ran slow ass 40 yard times especially for their height 4.5 versus 4.58. Both are primarily seen as PRs than anything else and both are supposedly more "quick" than "fast." How is that a stupid comparison? They're virtually identical.

The only thing they have in comparison is their size and their role.

Their game is completely different. Thomas has far more explosivness. Thomas was running in the 4.3's at his Pro Day.

Watch the dude play. He's a legit home run threat.

RunKC 05-10-2014 11:50 AM

McCluster sure as hell couldn't do this either. This kid has wheels.

This is exactly right. The 4th round or later is a great place to get your gadget offensive weapons not 36th overall like McCluster.

tonyetony 05-10-2014 11:52 AM

This was the perfect value/need pick. Could end up being the steal of the draft if he stays healthy. I love this pick.

gotta find a gif of that return....the one where he fielded the ball off a hop, went backwards and then took it to the house.

That play alone shows why he's not McCluster.

Yup. Even if those guys he's outrunning only run legitimate 4.5s-4.7s, that's still damn impressive how easily he outran their angles on that play.

Yup. Instinctively, he's great and not just entirely dependent on his speed like Dri Archer is. Thomas is smart about when to turn it on and how to set people up. If he didn't get dinged up in his senior year, Thomas would be a much higher pick.

That threw a 3:1 TD/INT ration during the regular season and scored 44 points in a playoff game minus his best weapon.

Yeah, sucks to be us.

When you draft a player in the 4th round, turn on his highlight film and it's literally 7 minutes of him taking it to the house play after play after play, then it's ok to feel good about the pick.

His highlight video is seriously 7 straight minutes of hitting home runs.

He's a great gadget player taken where a great gadget player should be taken.

I bet we run some split back formations out there with Charles and Thomas. In fact, I guarantee Andy will run that likely every game. Andy loves him some RBs that can catch and can fly.
