Maybe some awkward lines may come off better when your are reading them rather than hearing them? However usually I tend to forget I am even reading subs about 5-10 minutes into a move anyway.

You need to watch The Lives of Others, if you haven't seen it. I find that once people can accept subtitles, I can suggest more.

I'm currently trying to get people to watch it.

You have any other more recent foreign ficks that you can suggest? I try to keep up but have fallen far behind in the last few years outside of the higher profile ones like Downfall, Lives of Others and The Counterfeiters.

I just got done watching No Country for Old Men, Bubble Boy, and Be Kind, Rewind.

No Country for Old Men was pretty much amazing, and sadly enough Bubble Boy made me laugh. I actually liked Gyllenhaal's character in this flick. These clips made the movie for me:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WsobnuVXvs4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WsobnuVXvs4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I couldn't find a clip of the other the scene I was referring to. Which was the bus scene with Zach Galifianalkis.

I also enjoyed most of Be Kind, Rewind. I plan on finishing it today.

I felt the same way especially about THC. The movie was way too pretentious and full of it self even considering the subject matter. The goddamn acoustic guitar in every scene made me want to slice open a ****ing shar pei right in front of it's queer owner.

quit sounding so god-damned sad LACF! I'm drinking Merlot at 7:23 AM bitch, Call me Papi!

Ebert's Achilles strikes again!!

A certain movie hitting 40% from rottentomatoes gets 4 stars from Roger.

Meanwhile, a film toiling similar territory [sans Achilles] gets 2 stars and plenty of criticism.

ROFL

Not sure what parts your friend wrote but it was very much typical Mike Myers sense of humor. It was the exact same type of humor as the Austin Powers flicks, so im not sure why this flick got so much hate??

Y Tu Mama Tambien is very good.

Is the Counterfeiters worth seeing?

Probably already seen it, but Los Perros Amores.

I was watching a movie today. One of the worst I've ever seen. Uninspired, dull, lacking any direction.
It was called the 2008 Chiefs.

Fire Me Boy! 09-21-2008 03:52 PM

Buehler445 09-23-2008 09:19 PM
