The SRS on PFR is a great tool to compare teams historically beyond W-L record. A definition:

To refresh your memory, it’s a system that’s been around forever and is extremely basic compared some of the other power rating systems out there. But I like it because it’s easy to understand.

An average team will have a rating of zero. An above average team will have a positive rating while a below average team will have a negative rating.

Every team will have a rating that is the equal to their average point margin plus the average of their opponent’s ratings, so the teams’ ratings are all interdependent.

The Colts’ rating depends upon the ratings of all their opponents, which depends upon the ratings of all their opponents (some of which are the Colts), and so on.
Let's take a look at some SRS for good Chiefs teams.

Ouch. Even when Pioli fielded a winning team, it had a negative rating. Overrated team? Yes.

We're about to get to the 2012 Chiefs. Hang tight.

Are you ready for this, Scott?

This is absolutely ****ing awesome.

Sorter 11-06-2012 06:37 AM

**** it. Let's just print everything. This, the Cassel doc, the Pioli doc, the Hamas letter and just mail that ****er to Clark. Email too.

I'm sure he already knows most of this (I would hope) but lol, getting a ****ing giant envelope just filled with statistics exposing Pioli all at one time and in one sitting would be fantastic IMO. Clark also seems like the kinda guy who would actually sit down and read every single bit.

htismaqe 11-06-2012 06:53 AM

I think it's time to step up the game.

Here's the bottom line for me:

It's not just that they're losing. It's not JUST that they're HISTORICALLY inept.

It's that they're also "my shit don't stink" assholes that treat the fans like sheep and their Patriot Way buddies like kings.

I love football and I love the Kansas City Chiefs. But I'm at the point where I WISH to all that is Holy that I could quit. I would love nothing more at this point than to not care about this team anymore and move on.

BlackHelicopters 11-06-2012 06:55 AM

More evidence.Great.

HemiEd 11-06-2012 07:00 AM

I didn't need to see all of those numbers, as I posted last week this was the worst team I have ever seen take the field for the Chiefs in 43 years of fandom.

Watching them has now become more of a curiosity, similar to gawking at a 11 car pile up in the opposing lanes of traffic.

You slow down to look, then you move on, thanking God it wasn't you.

My rival fan friends feel sorry for me, and show pity.

cyborgtable 11-06-2012 07:02 AM

That is just ****ing unbelievable

FAX 11-06-2012 07:08 AM

That's ... well ... amazing.

If I were in charge of SOC, I'd email that document to every media outlet on the planet.

Great research effort, Mr. GoChiefs.
