Golfers......range finder or gps

Those of you who golf, do you use a range finder or hand held gps?

What is your preference?

What Brand/Model would you recommend?

I eyeball the shit... Rangefinders are for pussies

Garmin Approach G3 if you want good yet economical. Bought mine on ebay for $140. Go with the Approach G6 if you're willing to pop for $300. Light weight. Fit in pocket. easy to use. Lets us pick spots on fairway for distance to bunkers, trees, creeks, etc.

Phone app also. Its a free one called Golf Pad. I've only used it a couple of times, but it seemed fairly accurate.

I use Bushnell rangefinder. The only time I find the gps to be better is if you are behind a tree or some other object that blocks your view.

I have a bushnell. my phone battery goes dead easy enough as it is.
also, when you ping the flag with a rangefinder it tells you EXACTLY how far you are out. none of this "to the center of the green" bullshit. depending on the size of the green you could be a whole club off (or more!) if your app is only telling you what the distance is to the center of the green. just saying. not to mention the lowly courses you might be on that aren't even a part of the app you have on your phone.
judging distance.....I'm terrible at it. best purchase I've ever made for improving my game.....a stupid range finder.

I use a scope / range finder. Ive had a gps. Overall prefer the scope I can pretty much shoot distances to whatever I want ie like a bunker, layup, etc

I've golfed with friends and compared the apps to my range finder. they are very accurate....if the pin is near the center of the green.

Although phone ones might be accurate, the phone battery never lasts a whole 18.

Garmin makes a bad ass one

if your looking for cheap and functional without the flare

I've never used a GPS or rangefinder in my life. I play golf old school style. **** cart's too, if I'm playing a sport may as well get some exercise.
