PFF Defensive Rookie of the Year announced

Ronald Darby. Should be a great corner for years to come. Leonard Williams was runner up, followed by Byron Jones.

The Buffalo Bills were one of few teams without a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but they still managed to nab one of the most impactful rookie classes. Their top pick (second round), Ronald Darby, has quickly emerged as one of the best young cornerbacks in the league, while Karlos Williams is a capable back behind LeSean McCoy.

Darby had an impressive rookie campaign, pulling down two interceptions and recording 21 passes defensed -- good for fifth in the league. He's considered one of the top candidates to win Defensive Rookie of the Year, but fellow cornerback Marcus Peters could take that honor.

However, according to Pro Football Focus, Darby is the league's top defensive rookie and was named the Defensive Rookie of the Year by the site.

The first runner-up is New York Jets defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who recorded three sacks and 63 tackles to go along with 30 quarterback hurries, according to PFF. Dallas Cowboys defensive back Byron Jones was the second runner-up, followed by Peters and Adrian Amos.

This is the second award the Bills have won from PFF, with Tyrod Taylor winning Breakout Player of the Year.

PFF, forever judging film that it can never truly understand.

Peters will be twice the player Darby ever is, barring injuries.

PFF is predicting that the Bills will win the Super Bowl.

Two interceptions and 21 passes defensed is incredible for a rookie. It's not like any other rookies did better. And yes, that's sarcasm.

PFF has its merits. But 60% of the time it's useless shit.

I like PFF sometimes but its stuff like this that easily invalidates a lot of what they do. Peters has been far superior and had a bigger impact than Ronald freaking Darby.

The Bills defense stunk this year too.

Like c'mon man.

Big fan of PFF but sometimes they overthink things and make themselves look foolish. This is one of those times.

PFF is one of those really craptastic sites that you dislike 90% of the time until there is one gold nugget in the pile of shit and then it's used to validate your argument.

LoneWolf 01-14-2016 08:30 PM

The little bitch from England will be along shortly to tell us all how great PFF is.

jspchief 01-14-2016 09:01 PM

PFF is bad today then? Hard to keep track.
