thank god it's only on next gen and not on ps3 anymore. while i love these games, they didn't show any gameplay.

Meh. The first two were great because they had an incredible story which was written by an actual comic writer, Paul Dini who they essentially let go after Arkham City. The last one they did was meh and no surprise here, the trailer features what? Batman punching bad guys and riding around in the batmobile.. no story element to be found.

I also hate how the horrible the bat suit looks. I thought they got it just about perfect in Arkham Origins (less uber clunky armor, shorter, more traditional ears) but this is like three steps back.

The last game wasn't done by the studio that did the first two (rocksteady). It was a licensed game done by WB Montreal. While I don't think Dini is involved, as you mention, Rocksteady has returned to develop the third game. It's essentially a sequel to Arkham City and I'm thinking of it as the conclusion of a trilogy starting with Arkham Asylum.

Wonder if they bring back Kevin Conroy for this game instead of that guy who did the voice in Origins. I liked him, but he's no Conroy.

I tried playing Asylum and just didn't really care for the gameplay. It seemed repetitive.

Really? I found Arkham City to be an amazing game. I have actually played several times just because it was so much fun.

I loved AA and AC. AC was better. Hell i even liked Origins though it seemed like filler to get us by until this.

I want a full length, CGI Batman flick just like this.

I really liked Under the Red Hood style. That was actually really good. Year One and The Dark Knight Returns weren't bad either.

Based off of what story though? The Killing Joke?

That's not gameplay. My guess is the engine will be largely the same as Arkham city/origins.

I got Arkham asylum and arkham city at the same time on PC.

After destroying arkham asylum and playing about halfway through arkham city I just got sick of it.

Didn't finish Arkham city or even try playing it for about 6 months. Picked it up again and just destroyed the thing and had one helluva blast. It's a great game, but it honestly felt like I was playing the same game for the most part and got tired of it.

I can't stress enough how much I wanted to drive the batmobile around... BECAUSE I'M BATMAN!

shit, most of the animated movies by DC and marvel are great.

if one were playing both games back to back, then yes, i can definitely see getting bored, but if played by itself, then the game was awesome. I finished the game, then got all the Riddler trophies and gems for Catwoman too.

Finally saw the trailer to this- goddamn it looks beautiful. Even if the thing was all CG and not gameplay sequences, I still thought it looked spectacular. Now, here's to hoping the gameplay matches it's visual awesomeness!

I thought I was suffering from Batman and superhero fatigue overall but after reading more and watching more about this game, my hype levels are off the charts. It's easily in my top 5 most anticipated now and near the top. Can't frickin wait.

Also, anyone else think there will be something in this to set up a Justice League spin off? I think we'll see cameos from Superman and or Wonder Woman at least....

why are people hyping over CGI so much? i mean, cmon we know the game is going to be insane but let's wait till we see some actual game play.

while arkham city wasn't the greatest, it's a key title in the series and you got to experience it at least once if you've played the others.

Arkham City was the best of the 3 arkham games.

meh, origins was better. The only reason it got rated less is because it was only slightly different than arkham city. It was one of those things where critics hammered it because it was the 'same game' even though it was slightly better~

Waiting until summer 2015 will be a pain. Outside Destiny I'm just not seeing anything to get excited about now. This year.

I don't get Destiny unless they port it to PC, unfortunately.

October for me, though, is still pretty busy with a (relatively) major patch to SWTOR and Dragon Age: Inquisition a week apart.

I don't care about PC. Tired of playing the keep up game with it.

I only upgrade every 3-4 years, it hasn't taken all that much effort. It's certainly been easier since I built my own.

Console games to me are a rip-off. In a general sense, half the content for double the price. So I've been resistant to get one. Unfortunately, however, console limitations are hurting what PC games deliver in this multi-platform world.

I just don't want my pc in the family room. But I hate going downstairs to play it in the less than comfortable seating. Plus, when it costs $250 to upgrade the video card and not to mention the fact I am due for a new motherboard as well....

I also prefer the convenience of the controller.

I wish they would inject more Batman stuff into the game, not THEMATICALLY but like stuff that makes Batman BATMAN. They do a decent job on the detective stuff (though it should be a part of the story instead of a gameplay mechanic) but they should do stuff like AI + coop with other Batfamily characters (lot of SP games these days are integrating this type of seemless open world coop stuff into their SP campaigns like Watchdogs and Dark Souls). Batman is nothing without help from his friends. Would be badass to roam around the open world with another character helping you mow baddies down.

(also still hate the clunky armor batsuit with exposed eyes+eye shadow #trolo)

shit I also hope the trailer is either misleading OR the "Arkham Knight" isn't Jason Todd. As if Jason Todd is about to help/work for people like Ivy and Penguin.. even when he was a psychotic killer he only really murdered criminals + people who got in his way of that brand of justice ROFL

I didn't really much care for the Batman games until recently. I'm loving the music in the last installment. The fighting mechanic gets a little tired but according to the gameplay vids I've watched, they did a pretty nice update so maybe it won't be so repeatative.
I'm really looking forward to this one.

I just hope they don't overcomplicate it. One of the things I enjoyed most about the first two was the simplicity of the fight mechanics. If you just wanted to button mash you could.


Well, except for when you faced Freeze, but other than that....

Thought the games were pretty meh. The visuals and everything were ok but the shit was like fighting the same fight over and over. The only fight that felt somewhat different was the Freeze "fight."

Also, I thought adding the playable parts of Catwoman in City were quite possibly the most useless addition to the game. Hopefully they don't do some stupid shit like that again with her or Robin.
