Arians Poker Play

2013 QB Class and Geno lack 'wow factor'.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...ack-wow-factor

Bowser 03-23-2013 05:35 PM

De-value Geno; take him at 7.

DTLB58 03-23-2013 05:36 PM

If he thinks the Cardinals are going to give him time to compete in the NFC West with Drew Stanton as his QB then we will be seeing a new coach in Arizona in about 3 years.

penbrook 03-23-2013 05:39 PM

Lol and this coming from the guy who said Drew Stanton will be the starter.

tk13 03-23-2013 05:40 PM

Funny thing is not 4-5 months ago he was the choice on this board for HC. Mainly because he was believed to be able to evaluate and teach young QBs.

Arians is known as a very straight shooter. I'd be surprised if he'd flat diss this entire class then go take one of them.

Dave Lane 03-23-2013 05:45 PM

No sane person wanted Arians.

CaliforniaChief 03-23-2013 05:48 PM

Yeah, that will sway other teams. LMAO

Buffalo had a chance to admire the chocolate penii from up close...and well, once you go...anyways.

The die is cast. The Bills are smitten. We are about to clean their cupboard of picks. We will add a 2nd, 4th, 1st + 3rd next year, and load up.

With that kinda haul I'd have to say OK

B14ckmon 03-23-2013 05:51 PM

It's been stated by insiders, and Arians himself that they aren't looking to draft a QB.

I think it has more to do with him getting blow jobbies from Drew Stanton in Indy.

Proof? I have seen nothing.

That's not even close to the truth. I'm not going to waste hours going over all the threads where people named him as a candidate.

I sincerely doubt Drew Stanton will be the opening day starter, especially if Geno is sitting there at 7.

CaliforniaChief 03-23-2013 06:17 PM

Buffalo HAS to take a QB. They don't have anyone. Tarvaris Jackson? LMAO

They'll jump.

They will. His name is Ryan Nassib. you are taking Joeckel #1 overall. You really need to accept this.

Not in the first round.

Nassib in the first. Hilarious.

Maybe. But at one time everyone would've said no way that Alex Smith would be starting for the Chiefs next year. Especially with a guy who has success with QBs like Andy Reid.

Nassib would be lucky to go before Matt Scott or Zach Dysert.

I think it's a wise move to hold on until the second or third round to find a QB when Tavaris Jackson is your starter.

I think the same was thought of Ponder.

Stuff happens in the draft especially @ the QB position.

He is bluffing. He is smart enough to realize his job depends on it.

OrtonsPiercedTaint 03-23-2013 07:50 PM

Arians, aren't those bald headed racists?

Coogs 03-23-2013 08:09 PM

Not to nit pick here, but Andrew Luck never really had a "wow" factor about him either. Everybody knew he was a great football player, but he didn't just dazzle you game after game with unbelievable plays. Just good solid football most of the time.

Now Johnny Football has the "wow" factor, but I am not sure I would touch him with a ten foot pole next draft.

So just because Geno doesn't have a "wow" factor, I wouldn't be that concerned. We have seen him make plays when the game is on the line. Not every game as the KSU, Texas Tech, and Syracuse game watchers will point out, but he has made plays that are pretty impressive when needed.

More like Luck, you just know Geno is a good football player.

And before anyone reads anything into this this... I did not say Geno is as good as Andrew Luck.
