How many days of work have you missed in the last year?

Please include any and all absences due to being ill, family emergencies, etc.

Do not include scheduled days off, vacation time, etc.

Poll coming up.

I've missed a half day - went to the doctor and was told I had bronchitis. Laid around for about 3 hours, then worked from home the rest of the day.

Nicely done. A lot of folks in the same boat as you according to the early poll results.

I missed 3 days for emergency gallbladder surgery. I probably missed 12 other days. So I'll say roughly 15. I have lots of issues with a couple of auto-immune diseases and with the meds I take for them. I also have a lot of doctor appointments which take me away from work too. I will always be above average due to the autoimmune diseases.

I have missed all of the days

Zero

Although I was a dumbass and went to work for a week straight with chicken pox about 3 years ago. Thought they were oak mite bites. :D

One.

I will go to work with normal colds all the time. The day I have the shits is an automatic call in sick day.

I am a dumbass. I would feel guilty calling in sick when I am not sick. I did take 40 hours of family sick time when my father was sick just before he passed away.

Other than those 40 Hours of Family sick I have used a total of about 5 sick days in 33 years.

So you can give the cold to your coworkers and cause your company to suffer more people out?

Why Not? 07-13-2018 07:53 PM

None. If I miss work and it's not for vacation it's because I'm dead. I don't believe in sick days.

My guess would be most places of business have at least one sick(if we're including colds)employee at work almost everyday.

Starting this New Years Day, I had the worst case of Flu I have ever had in my life. It literally shut me down for over a week. I had no strength, a massive head ache and a high fever. I just laid in bed the whole time. It absolutely sucked. Went to the Dr and they said take ibuprofen and Tylenol every 4-6 hours - there’s nothing we can do for you.

Before that, I had not missed any time from work in the last 3 years.
