Donnie Edwards vs Derrick Johnson

Who you got?

DJ: 938 tackles, 77 PD, 27.5 sacks, 14 INT, 22 FF, 4 TD

DE: 1123 tackles, 59 PD, 23.5 sacks, 28 INT, 15 FF, 4 TD

As a Chief….DJ

For a career….DE

28 INTs is incredible for a LB

RunKC 02-14-2018 01:08 PM

Dude it’s not even close..

I don't know.

DJ was obviously a far superior run defender but Donnie has an argument as one of the best coverage linebackers the league has ever seen, and better at forcing turnovers.

I voted DJ but Donnie was special.

I’ll never forget the meltdown posts when Edwards came back about RBs wearing him like a belt and getting an extra 10 yards. ROFL

Both are great defenders and caught more heat than they deserve. But it’s DJ by a lot.

DJ, not even close. Let me know how many TFL's Donnie got in comparison to DJ. DJ was by far superior in the run game.

No, Donnie Edwards wasn't special, unless riding RBs like a bronco buster was special.

Turnovers are great, but I'll take the LB that can actually make stops every damn time.

It's rarely the defense that forces the most turnovers that wins games, and championships.
It's the defense that can get off the field consistently.

Agree, its not even close. DJ all the way.

milkman 02-14-2018 01:47 PM

DJ is easily the fourth best LB this team has seen.

I'll even take Jim Lynch and a a healthy Dino Hackett over Donnie Edwards.

milkman 02-14-2018 01:49 PM

Hell, when I think about it, I take Tracy Simeon over Donnie Edwards.

Feel like there should be a Pellom McDaniels option for his stint as The Falcon.

Marcellus 02-14-2018 01:56 PM

DE earlier in his career was better and DJ was better mid to later in his career.

DJ was not very consistent or good his first few years.

DJ could have had 30 INTs, but he has terrible hands.
