Chris Ballard will oversee pro and college scouting departments for the Chiefs. Comes over from Chicago where he was the head of Pro Scouting. Take over both Phil Emery and Ray Farmer's positions.

Per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Ballard's new title will be director of player personnel.

It didn't really remain vacant. Jim Nagy was promoted when Emery left, but Pioli basically ran that department.

I could see Nagy becoming the assistant director of college scouting under Ballard.

Ballard has been responsible for such picks as Matt Forte, Charles Tillman, Johnny Knox, Nathan Vasher and Tommie Harris for the Bears. Pretty damn impressive!

So he passed up on Dwayne Bowe, Jamaal Charles, Tamba Hali , and Derrick Johnson. what a dumbass !
