Alex Smith: 9-16, 180 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 19 yards rushing Pat Mahomes: 12-19, 138 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 24 yards rushing The Chiefs 2nd team OL was dreadful, as Mahomes was sacked five times, but Smith's beautiful throw to Conley that went for a touchdown gives him the early edge in the QB competition. Mahomes showed off his arm a couple of times, but could not lead a scoring drive. The INT was just a punt on 3rd and 33. In Week 2, Mahomes will get to work with the starters. |

The first month of the regular season looks like it's going to be a dumpster fire. |

That was a fine decision. A very poor throw, indeed. That's what I get for trying to lead a receiver with Alex Smith down the field. I'm just used to playing with the All-Pro Robby Chase. He connects on those throws. You remember him.
As for the Mahomes TD, lick my balls, I was looking at the middle of the field, and if I had released it sooner it wouldn't have been a TD. |

Look at where that LB is situated as the throw is released - in stride with Kelce and in underneath position. That throw may have been picked if Smith puts it in the right spot. But since he sailed it, the LB adjusted to the throw rather than the route (odd AI) and went behind Kelce to adjust to the overthrow. The right choice was Escobar and a new set of downs - easy. |
Sorry, I'm not going to cater to my limited veteran QBs needs in preseason. He needs to attempt those downfield throws if he wants to win the starting job.
He can't hit them, not my problem. Kelce was even with that LB and leaving him as the throw started. A classic shot to throw the receiver open. Good try, Alex, but you lost that competition for a reason. Because you're a corner-sailing cuck. |

OK, so I had a play in a game where I was standing flat-footed in a clean pocket, and missed a receiver running a five-yard slant by at least five yards. I mean it wasn't even close.

2. That pass was supposed to go in the hole. Smith's shitty MTHA rating made it go awry. I could alter my playing style since I'm without the wonderful Bobbo Chase, but nah, son. 3. Kelce wasn't open. Especially for not for a QB with Smith's shitty MTHA. The defender was camping over the top all the way anyway. I am blameless. |
