Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix is "hearing" the Cardinals "have discussed" trading for Chiefs LT Branden Albert.
The Dolphins and Albert's agent held contract discussion over the weekend, but those talks have reportedly stalled. Insert the Cardinals. Arizona has been mentioned as a landing spot for one of the top offensive tackles in the draft at No. 7 overall, but there's a real possibility none of the three will be there. Kansas City wants a second-round pick in exchange for Albert -- the Cardinals hold the 38th pick. Albert also needs a new long-term contract, and he is said to be seeking upwards of $9 million annually. The Cardinals have roughly $7 million in cap space.

Until Peter King confirms, I remain skeptical.................

ChiefAshhole20 04-22-2013 04:56 PM

They're going to have to clear up some cap room to make way for Albert and his ELITE contract

Dante84 04-22-2013 04:57 PM

Well this is good, hopefully a bidding war ensues.

Sassy Squatch 04-22-2013 05:11 PM

God damn Albert. 9 mil a year?

thabear04 04-22-2013 05:15 PM

At least he can protect Palmers rather then whoever the Fins QB.

The only thing more delusional on how good Branden Albert is than most Chiefs fans is . . . Branden Albert.

i stated the other day how much trading him, and drafting joeckell would be, and got called every name under the sun. Simpletons wont acknowledge the cost saving move, because, well, taking Joeckell, means not over drafting Geno Smith, and that is just a no no to the crowd who wants change, just for the sake of change.

Can we just start an OFFICIAL RUMORS THREAD until Thursday? Thanks.

It's a lateral move for the sake of saving money. It's ****ing reeruned.

It has nothing to do with not drafting Geno Smith. I'd rather draft Dion Jordan at 1.1 than picking Joeckel.

This. And it's not a lateral move. For the immediate future, it's a step back...

Alex Smith won't survive the season if the selected rookie LT has to have a "learning curve". I'm pretty much confident that Von Miller is correct that he'll abuse Joeckel when they face off.
