I love The Bee Gees. Don't care what anyone says. I love their VH1 Storytellers performance of "How Deep is Your Love."

I saw them at Lolla a couple years ago...they were pretty tight. I haven't been able to resist clinging to this Sublime-esque ska bands since Bradley Nowell died, with hopes I'll find something similar (usually being let down). A few bands do pretty well with that sound though, imo. The Dirty Heads are an awesome relatively new reggae/ska band.

It's amazing how Gibb's accent is so deep when he's talking, but it's lost when he starts singing.

I like 311 and Matisyahu, so it was no surprise that I liked their sound. :)

Ever heard of The Smithereens? I saw them at an Octoberfest concert back when this song was starting to get popular.

Edit: Obviously The Smithereens don't have the reggae sound, but you mentioned going to Lolla and I had a flashback to my first outside venue concert. Just thought I would share.

Wow. I can still remember the smell of weed lingering in the air, hippies getting smashed in the mosh pits, and body surfing trash cans full of regurgitation. Good times. LMAO

NICE. Hadn't heard them until now, but for some reason I feel like I've heard of them. First listen, though and I like it!

IIRC, that song was the only one to hit radio stations. After that, they just kind of fizzled out. It was a shame, too. I did come across more of their songs on YouTube, but I've never heard any of them.

Of course, (if you read my edit), I was on a contact high, so who knows what other songs they played. LMAO

Beautiful Daddy-daughter song. Hit my radar 10 years or so ago and I loved it, but I was the oldest of 4 brothers back then and am the oldest of 4 brothers + father of 2 daughters now, so the song hits home even more. Love Tori. Hell, we named our dog after her (which is a good thing...we love our dog).

Another one of my faves by her:

Haha, just read a funny comment on the "Precious Things" youtube vid. It was:

I'm a guy. I love beer and football.

And I'm here to say that Tori Amos is one of the greatest artists of all time. There is more passion and soul in one song than most artists bring in an entire career. Pure genius.

LMAO, It's refreshing to know that I'm not alone on that.

It's funny you mention Matisyahu right after I mentioned The Dirty Heads. I've been addicted to the newer Dirty Heads stuff lately. One of my fave songs on their new CD is featuring Matisyahu:

I'm sure it was a great time, but I can only remember those few key things and that one song. LMAO

:thumb: to Tori Amos, btw!

Great song!

Gotta get some sleep now, but I'll leave you with my favorite Matisyahu song.

Oh my dear Lord! Is it really that big of a deal that Aussie prefers one genre of music?

I'm posting Andy Gibb to prove a point. Some people prefer to listen to a single genre and others have eclectic taste and listen to many different genres. I mean, here I am posting disco, yet I posted a pop/hip-hop song in the OP.

GAH!!! :banghead:

Oh and here's another Andy Gibb. Don't like it? Piss off! :D

Hey, I am just trying to help the foreigner fit it. No one ever comments on his videos so I assume most don't like them either?

Just trying to help a bro out. I like anything but rap or hip/hop so piss off about liking different music.

lewdog 06-13-2013 06:07 PM

P.S. Andy Gibb ****ing owns! No problem with that.
