So here's what I need:
 

I am in a group of about 20 people that I need to contact simultaneously by text.

Here's what I'm needing:

1. I need to contact these folks by text.

2. I would like to do it in one swoop so I don't have to text them all individually.

3. I'd like to keep it so that my contact information is concealed. Not a dealbreaker though.

4. I'd like them to simply text me back, rather than load an app or send an email. I'm hearding cats here so I need it to be simple for them.

5. When they receive a text from me, they will see a message from only me and none of the responses from anybody else, and it will be as if they are communicating with me directly. Which I guess they are.

Anybody know of a tool I could use to make this happen?

Can't you just send up the virtue signal?

It's going to be hard to find something to fill all those requirements at the same time. Makes it harder when you can't control what apps the other users are using for texting. Sending group texts anonymously is probably a hard stop due to the potential of something like that being used for mass spamming. Likewise with sending mass messages and having the user only see it as coming from you and not include other users. Most providers block that kind of thing for the same reasons as above. You'd likely need to use some individual messaging app for stuff like that and require all the users to use the same thing. I don't see any way of making this work like you want while anticipating the other users will be using normal simple texting capabilities.

I'm pretty sure you can use GroupMe, which just works through SMS. I used to get texts from GroupMe even before I had the app. It might include everyone on replies, though.

It sounds like you're describing email (with BCC options). I'm assuming you only have phone numbers and not email addresses. Shit creek, brosef.

Are you absolutely sure? I swear I used to get the GroupMe texts before I got the app.
